Pam Korza is co-director of Animating Democracy, a program of Americans for the Arts that inspires, informs, promotes, and connects arts and culture as potent contributors to community, civic, and social change. It brings national visibility to arts for change work, builds knowledge about quality practice, and demonstrates the public value of creative work that contributes to civic engagement and social change, fostering synergy across arts and other fields and sectors. Additional information about the individual initiatives discussed is available as case studies on the Animating Democracy website (http://www. animatingdemocracy.org). Materials that overview the findings of the project are available in a series of seven books published by Americans for the Arts, including the Critical Perspectives: Writings on Arts and Civic Dialogue volume discussed below.
