Zoë Reznick Gewanter works with young people making art and media to create social change as program director of New Lens, a Baltimore-based social justice organization. For over ten years, she has worked in youth and community development with the Jewish Museum of Maryland, Youth Dreamers, Camp Tizmoret, and Community Art Collaborative. Since 2009, Ms. Reznick Gewanter has worked with Rebecca Yenawine and Maryland Institute College of Art to research and evaluate community arts outcomes. Previously, she has completed program evaluation work with the Woodbourne Center and Two Gems Consulting Services. She holds a BA in psychology from Goucher College and an MA in community arts from the MICA.
Rebecca Yenawine
Rebecca Yenawine has worked as founder and director of a community arts organizations since 1997. In her current work as director at New Lens, she advises young people in how to run their own organization and supports their creative endeavors. She also serves as adjunct faculty at the Maryland Institute College of Art in the Master of Community Art Program. She has worked in partnership with MICA on community arts research and evaluation since 2009. Ms. Yenawine has a BA in English from Goucher College and a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Education. In 1999, she was the recipient of a Community Fellowship Award from the Open Society Institute. Ms. Yenawine has published articles through the CAN Network and the Nathan Cummings Convening.
